Smart Deck panels are injection molded of a less durable Polypropylene plastic which can break. Smart Deck is rated at 250 lbs. per square foot, EZ Pads are made from HDPE (high density polyethylene) and tested to 5000 lbs. per square foot at the Phillips Petroleum Labs. Smart Deck offers a 1 year limited warranty.

EZ Pads require 4 panels, 8 connectors, and 16 screws or a total of 28 pieces for an 8x8 pad. EZ Pads can be assembled in about ten minutes.

Each Smart Deck panel is 24" x 24" so that assembling an 8x8 requires 16 panels, 16 bull-nose edges, 4 bull-nose corners, and 46 connectors, for a total of 82 pieces and 30 to 60 minutes to assemble.

If you have seen Handi Pads advertised, you may be confused about pricing. Handi Pads are sold through resellers who offer various pricing schemes to attract your attention. For example, some will price the Handi Pad by one panel, by three panels, or by the required six panels. EZ PADS are always priced for the complete pad. We frequently find the need to explain this to our customers.

I called a local spa store last week and confirmed they carried the EZPad and had them in stock. I even called them today before I made the trip out there. I then re-confirmed with the store today that it was indeed the EZPad and not the HandiPad. YES!

I got home and opened the box to find that they had sold me the HandiPad!! When I called the store back to let them know what had happened they basically said that the EZ Pad is like "Kleenex". They are all the same. They are all "ezpads". I think not! LOL.

So needless to say I wasn't very happy, especially since my spa was set to be delivered on Monday, and I had to reschedule.
